Coaching and Mentoring For Better Performance

A natural part of all our work is to ensure that, as far as is appropriate and possible within the parameters of the project, everyone who works with us has the chance to benefit from our skills and experience.

Finding the space to holistically support your marketing team through the ups and downs of their day job and longer term career is not always easy. Yet, studies continually prove that the opportunity for training and personal development rate high with staff in terms of job satisfaction and are powerful retention factors.

Developing your marketing team

We can actively support marketing people to improve performance, skills, and knowledge, using a blend of coaching, mentoring and tuition.

They benefit from the support of an independent marketing coach and mentor, who encourages them and believes wholeheartedly that they can succeed. And who can work along side them, so that the new skills and techniques they learn are learnt within the context of your organisation and can be immediately and directly applied in the workplace.

This approach can be valuable extension of existing personal development programmes and much more effective that simply sending people on public courses.

We can strengthen your marketing team and overall marketing performance when

  • You have new starters who need tuition, coaching or mentoring through the first few months
  • You have marketing team members who will benefit from improving their knowledge, skills or performance in certain areas
  • Your junior marketing people require support when their line manager is on maternity leave or seconded to new projects - or while you are recruiting
  • One of the team is promoted to marketing manager level
  • As a senior marketing professional, you will benefit from working with someone with senior marketing experience and having Jane Heaton as your marketing coach or marketing mentor

Coaching and mentoring can also form an effective part if a wider flexible interim arrangement.

A new start .....

“With starting a new job, taking on new responsibilities and working with a new organisational structure, Jane’s support and advice helped me immensely. Her friendly, challenging and calm approach helped me overcome confidence issues and recognising causes of worry and stress. She’s helped me identify better ways of working and managing my time. Next I hope to pull on her extensive marketing expertise.”

Karen Burrows, Marketing Projects Manager, Healthcare Sector

Stepping up .....

Jane was taken on to mentor a small marketing team while the Head of Marketing was on maternity leave. The company did not want to take on a full time interim replacement, yet did want to provide support and a point of expert reference for the team.

A junior marketing manager, "Sally" was given an acting "Head of" role and a re-organisation then saw her promoted to a more senior marketing management role with a strategic remit. Jane continued to mentor Sally as she got to grips with her new, strategic objectives, developing an expanding multi-disciplined team, commissioning agencies, and managing her own and her team's internal "PR".
